TD Pilot Switch Support

Switch Activation with Eye Gaze
TD Pilot wired switch input jacks

Assistive Touch (iOS) Switch 1 supports selection and functions the same way the left-click on a mouse does. The user can “click” or hold the switch down to perform drag-click type actions with their eyes.
Note: The switch activation and dwell activation can be enabled simultaneously, which is not typically what the user wants. If the user wants to exclusively use the switch for activation they should turn OFF Dwell Control under iOS Settings -> Accessibility -> Touch ->

Assistive Touch -> Dwell Control. Switch 2 can perform a variety of user configurable actions, configured under iOS Settings -> Accessibility -> Touch -> Assistive Touch -> Devices -> Tobii Dynavox Pilot -> Customize Additional Buttons…

TD SnapWhen eye gaze is configured as the access method in TD Snap, Switch 1 can be configured to perform activation under User -> Access Method -> Selection type. Switch 2 is non-functional in Snap with eye gaze.

TD TalkTalk does not support switch activation with eye gaze.

       External Bluetooth Switch Device

Assistive Touch (iOS) While using Assistive Touch with eye tracking, a third-party Bluetooth switch can be used for activation only if it supports sending mouse clicks. An example of such a device is the AbleNet Blue2 4th Generation Bluetooth Switch. To function for activation with Assistive Touch, the switch must be configured to send mouse clicks:4

Left-click always performs activation and the right-click can be configured under iOS Settings -> Accessibility -> Touch -> Assistive Touch -> Devices -> …

TD Snap
A Bluetooth switch can be used for activation while using eye gaze in TD Snap by configuring the switch to send space/enter and adjusting the settings appropriately in
TD Snap under User -> Access Method -> Selection type.

Note: Third-party Bluetooth switchs cannot be configured to work for activation in both Snap and Assistive Touch, due to current iOS capabilities

TD Talk
TD Talk does not support switch activation with eye gaze.

Scanning with TD Pilot Wired Switch Input Jacks

Switch Control (iOS) The TD Pilot switch input jacks are not currently supported by iOS for native scanning (Switch Control).

TD Snap
The switch input jacks on the TD Pilot can be used for 1 or 2 switch scanning in TD Snap by setting the access method to Scanning under User -> Access Method.

TD Talk
TD Talk has limited support for switch scanning using native iOS Switch Control.
