On the Indi with TD Snap- How Do I Backup and Restore (Import and Export) A User Profile

To make a full backup of a TD Snap  user profile for transferring to another Indi, you will need a USB flash drive and a Micro USB to standard USB (female) adapter or an Internet connection. Then, please complete the following steps:

On the existing device:

  1. Open TD Snap
  2. In the upper right corner, select Settings (the gear with the pencil to open the Settings panel at the bottom of the screen).
  3. If Settings does not appear, drag up the three small horizontal lines on the bottom - center of the screen.
  4. Select User.
  5. On the right, select the name of the current user.
  6. The current user is designated with a checkmark.  Select the Save icon (which looks like a computer disk) that appears to the right of the current user.
  7. Select Browse.
  8. Navigate to and select the TobiiDynavox folder within Documents.
  9. Select the Select Folder button.
  10. Select Backup.
  11. Select Done (when it is completed).
  12. Exit  TD Snap.
  13. Copy the backup file from the TobiiDynavox folder selected in step 8 to the flash drive connected to the Indi or upload it to your MyTobiiDynavox account by going to mytobiidynavox.com.
 
On the new device:
  1. Download the backup from mytobiidynavox.com or connect the flash drive the contains the backup file to the Indi.
  2. Copy the backup file to the TobiiDynavox folder.
  3. Open  TD Snap
  4. In the upper right corner, select Settings (the gear with the pencil to open the Settings panel at the bottom of the screen).
  5. Swipe up on the three lines of the Settings panel if the settings are not visible..
  6. Select User
  7. To the right of User, select the name of the current user.
  8. Select New User.
  9. Select Existing User.
  10. Navigate to and select the backup file in the TobiiDynavox folder.
  11. Select the Open button.
  12. If you are presented with a message that states, “The user you are trying to restore already exists on the device” – choose the option that best fits your situation: Create a copy --- or --- Replace the existing user.
 
Please Note: the name of the backup file within Windows will start with the user name of the user in  TD Snap, followed by the date and time in this format:
Mark_2017-08-07-14-31-20.sub
