Can I use a different USB cable than the one provided with the PCEye Explore?

The PCEye Explore is a high power device that requires a fast and stable data transfer for the extensive data that needs to be processed for calculating the eyetracking results. Cables that do not reliably meet the USB3 specifications can lead to permanent or intermittent connection issues resulting in an unsatisfying eyetracking experience. There are cables on the market that are labeled as USB3 or USB SS but don't fully meet the requirements.Therefore we only recommend to use the cable provided with the eyetracker or officially offered by Tobii Dynavox as an accessory.
