A tech support manager who (really) gets it
Whether preserving a familiar voice for the future or creating a personalized synthetic voice, communicators can capture their unique identity with Acapela My-Own-Voice.
Starting July 14, anyone with a dedicated Tobii Dynavox AAC device* can access the Acapela My-Own-Voice (MOV) voice banking software license completely free of cost. This gives AAC users and their families timely and personalized voice banking without the need to secure separate funding.
Alongside a wide range of pre-made synthetic voices included with their device, AAC users have the option to create a voice by recording their own or a donor's voice. This supports a more personal communication experience while giving them greater choice in how they sound.

Pre-made voices may not always reflect a child's personality or sense of identity. A donor voice recorded by a sibling, parent, relative, or family friend can provide a voice that feels more familiar. This can encourage confidence and participation in everyday interactions.

For people with ALS, voice banking offers the opportunity to preserve a voice ahead of significant speech changes. With MOV, users can create a personalized voice by recording 50 short phrases, and have it ready to use when their device arrives. If using their own voice is not possible, they can create a custom voice using recordings from a family member or friend.
MOV voices are stored directly on-device, providing communication that doesn’t rely on the cloud. Together with secure data handling and seamless compatibility across TD software, AAC users can communicate with confidence using a voice that is always available and uniquely theirs.
Getting started with MOV is simple.
