How cool is this?!?
Visitors to the “Access + Ability” exhibit at the Cooper-Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York City will find several Tobii Dynavox products in the mix. This one-of-a-kind collection features more than 70 projects, programs and items that help people with disabilities enjoy more independence and a better quality of life. It includes our very own:
Indi the all-in-one speech tablet produced specifically for communication, shown with Snap Scene™, a photo-based beginning speech and language learning app rooted in the evidence-based research of Drs. Janice Light and Kathryn Drager at Penn State University.
The I-12+ portable eye-tracking speech-generating device paired with EyeFX software designed for children and adults starting to develop eye gaze skills required for AAC, literacy and computer access.
The EyeMobile Plus, a purpose-built bracket solution for mobile communication and hands-free access to Windows 10 computers, paired with Communicator 5, a versatile software for literate communicators.
It made our day that this New York Times review called out the EyeMobile Plus as one of the “absolutely miraculous” items on display.
Special thanks to Kathryn (Katie) Sequino, the New York City area Tobii Dynavox consultant, for the photos accompanying this blog post, taken during the exhibit’s official opening earlier this month.
"Access + Ability” runs through September 2018.
