Join us for an afternoon of learning fun! In this session, you’ll learn about the range of power of Boardmaker Online and how you can use it to create curriculum and deliver best practices in ELA instruction. We’ll also tour Boardmaker Instructional Solutions—programs that are FREE with your subscription to Boardmaker Online.

With step-by-step Lesson Guides and plans, you’ll learn how to support reading comprehension and social studies for all elementary students with Expedition Education Junior; how to bridge language and literacy learning with Core First Learning, how to teach reading with Reading Avenue, and how to support K-12 students in learning about science, social studies, and functional life skills. Boardmaker Online has everything you need to support the learning of all your students.

 

Course Objectives:

1.      Understand the relationship between language and literacy learning

2.      To explore pre-made curriculum and apply key principles of language and literacy instruction

3.      To create supplemental activities to enhance, extend or differentiate pre-made curriculum


Presenter: Maureen Donnelly, M.Ed Curriculum & Content Manager, Tobii Dynavox- Boardmaker

Maureen Donnelly is an early childhood educator who has taught students of diverse abilities from preschool through college. She holds a B.S. from Cornell University and an M.Ed from the University of New Hampshire. Before her current role as the Curriculum Manager at TobiiDynavox, Maureen contributed to the creation of numerous products that support emergent readers of diverse abilities. Maureen lives and works in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, in an office stuffed with children’s books.

Presenter: John Gragnani

John Gragnani is the Director of Education Accounts for Mayer-Johnson (Boardmaker), and has been assisting organizations for more than 5 years in acquiring and implementing the Boardmaker Family of Products. Most recently, John has specialized in helping to incorporate Boardmaker Online, Boardmaker Instructional Solutions, and The Social Express to drive learning and success. Prior to his work with Boardmaker, John spent 9 years as a Regional Director and Sales Consultant for Tobii Dynavox. In those roles, John worked with individuals using speech generating devices to improve their lives through greater communication. Before joining Tobii Dynavox, John was the Director of the UCP/Infinitec Assistive Technology center in Chicago. He also worked for 15 years in Adult Vocational Rehabilitation, and is a long time sign language interpreter. John has been with Tobii Dynavox since 2002.
