Training Type: Discovery Lab
Participants will gain understanding and supports needed for children with complex communication needs and gain exposure to the device and software features as well as educational supports from TobiiDynavox. Participants will be given the opportunity to participate in interactive stations to complete hands-on activities with Tobiiynavox products to facilitate learning, ask questions in the moment, and apply knowledge in practical ways. Participants will leave the session with an awareness of AAC options as well as resources and practical tips that can be used immediately following the training.
1) Describe the three pillars of content development that are the foundation of TobiiDynavox communication software solutions.
2) Identify two complex communication and learning outcomes when the AAC user is provided the appropriate communication and learning tools.
3) Identify the steps needed to customize content within one of the TobiiDynavox communication software solutions.
Certificates of Attendance will be available to use as continuing education documentation for clinical maintenance hours (CMH)

Mary Eadie M.A., CCC/SLP, ATP, is the sales consultant for Middle and West Tennessee. She began working for Tobii Dynavox in January 2011. Mary received her M.A. in Speech Pathology from Western Kentucky University and she also holds a specialist degree in Assistive Technology from the University of Kentucky. Prior to coming on board with Tobii Dynavox, Mary spent 15 years providing speech pathology services, with an emphasis on AAC, to individuals of various ages and disabilities. Mary enjoys traveling, crafts and spending time with her family.
