Eye Gaze Technology for Emergent Communicators
This implementation-based workshop will begin by reviewing the technical and functional aspects of eye tracking technology and various Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) language systems for the emergent communicator. AAC communication language organization and page set options successfully supported by eye gaze access method will be identified. Finally, communication partner strategies to support successful participation and interaction will be reviewed.
1. Identify two AAC language options or communication page sets that can be used with eye tracking.
2. State two communication partner strategies for successful communication with gaze interaction technology.
3. Identify three key technical features that make eye tracking technology successful.
Certificates of Attendance will be available to use as continuing education documentation for clinical maintenance hours.

Dannel's passion is assisting with all things related to AAC including assessment, the funding process, implementation, training and in-services for those supporting children and adults with severe speech and language disabilities.
