Participants will gain understanding of the characteristics and supports needed for children with complex communication needs and gain exposure to the device and software features as well as educational supports from Tobii Dynavox. Participants will be given the opportunity to participate in interactive stations to complete hands-on activities with Tobii Dynavox products to facilitate learning , ask questions in the moment, and apply knowledge in practical ways. Participants will leave the session with an awareness of AAC options as well as resources and practical tips that can be used immediately following training!
1) Describe the three pillars of content development that are the foundation of Tobii Dynavox communication software solutions.
2) Identify two complex communication and learning outcomes when the AAC user is provided the appropriate communication and learning tools.
3) Identify the steps needed to customize content within one of the Tobii Dynavox communication software solutions.

Leigh joined Tobii Dynavox after spending eight years specializing in the implementation of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) within a school setting. She has prior experience as an educator assistant in elementary and intermediate special education. While at Tobii Dynavox, Leigh spent two years as a regional Sales consultant, working with clients ranging in age from infant to geriatric. Currently, Leigh is a Learning Consultant on the Learning Services team at Tobii Dynavox where she leads the Sales New Hire program in addition to developing and facilitating trainings and implementation resources. She also presents at local, national, and international conferences about AAC topics.
