Training Type: Discovery Lab
Using lecture and case studies, participants will learn about augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), access and independence solutions for adults. Participants will apply AAC strategies to both symbol-based communication and adults using eye gaze access and/or text-based communication. Each section will include interactive lab stations with guided hands-on activities. Opportunities to apply your knowledge in practical ways will be provided. Each participant will leave the session with a handful of resources and practical tips that can be used the very next day!

Program Completion Requirements: Participants are expected to be present for the entire program. Individuals who are not present for the full program will not be recommended for ASHA CEUs. No partial credit will be provided.

Presenter: Lindsey Frohn
Lindsey worked in a rehabilitation hospital for over six years as a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) before joining Tobii Dynavox. While working with a wide variety of diagnoses and disorders, she developed a passion for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to increase her patients’ abilities to communicate successfully. Lindsey is presently a Learning Consultant with the Learning Services team at Tobii Dynavox. In this role, she develops and facilitates internal and external customer training and implementation resources. Lindsey also presents at local, national, and international conferences about AAC topics.
