Tobii Dynavox Discovery Lab: Learn. Do. Apply.
Course Description: You are invited to come and explore in the Tobii Dynavox Discovery Lab! Using lecture and case studies, participants will LEARN about communication, access and education solutions for individuals with complex needs. Then, you will make your way through interactive lab stations and DO guided hands-on activities. Opportunities to APPLY your knowledge in practical ways will be provided. Each participant will leave the session with a handful of resources and practical tips that can be used the very next day!
We will be covering Snap+Core First, Communicator 5, Snap Scene and Pathways for Snap Scene and Core First. You will have hands on experience with our I-Series devices for gaze interaction (eye gaze), our I-110, Indi and Indi 7, as well as our new Speech Cases with iPads.
This course if geared towards children, but applications for adults will also be highlighted!
Speech-Language Pathologists are eligible to receive our communication software for free through our Tobii Dynavox for Professionals program. Downloading our software prior to the course is helpful, but not required.
You will receive a Verification of Attendance form which is used for ASHA Clinical Maintenance Hours verification.

Presenter: Nuala South
Nuala South received her degrees from the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University. She has worked as a speech-language pathologist since 1981, specializing in the field of augmentative and alternative communication with children and adults with developmental and acquired disabilities. She has presented at a number of state conferences and local associations, as well as conducting workshops and trainings, all related to augmentative and alternative communication. Nuala has taught AAC at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and Oklahoma State University. Nuala has been employed as an AAC sales consultant for Tobii Dynavox for Oklahoma and Arkansas since 2008. She provides assistance with trainings, demonstrations, evaluations, and funding for communication devices for adults & children. Nuala has received the Gwen Cacy Award for outstanding clinician and Honors of the Association from the Oklahoma Speech and Hearing Association.
