Course Description: This implementation-based workshop will focus on the emergent communicator and how we can best provide supports and strategies that help realize their communication potential. Participants will review the stages of pre-intentional and intentional communication as well as low and high tech AAC communication supports with the goal of moving our emergent communicators toward symbolic communication.

Presenter: Lindsey Frohn, M.S., CCC-SLP. Lindsey has worked in a rehabilitation hospital for over 6 years as a pediatric speech-language pathologist. While working with a wide variety of diagnoses and disorders, she developed a passion for AAC to increase her patients’ abilities to communicate successfully. She is presently a member of the Clinical Training & Implementation Team where she develops and conducts internal and customer trainings, creates implementation resources, and presents at conferences about AAC topics.
