Description:

Course Description: This implementation-based workshop will focus on the emergent communicator and how we can best provide supports and strategies that help realize their communication potential.  Participants will review the stages of pre-intentional and intentional communication as well as low and high tech AAC communication supports with the goal of moving our emergent communicators toward symbolic communication.

Presenter:  
Lindsey Frohn, M.S., CCC-SLP.  Lindsey has worked in a rehabilitation hospital for over 6 years as a pediatric speech-language pathologist.  While working with a wide variety of diagnoses and disorders, she developed a passion for AAC to increase her patients' abilities to communication successfully.  She is presently a member of the Learning Services Team at Tobii Dynavox where she develops and conducts internal and customer trainings, creates implementation resources and presents at conferences about AAC topics.

Program Completion Requirements:  Participants are expected to be present for the entire program.  Individuals who are not present for the full program will not be recommended for ASHA CEUs.  No partial credit will be provided.
