This workshop is designed to walk you through incorporating building blocks for success using AAC in the classroom to support communication, participation and positive behavior. By the end of the day, you will have created one lesson/teaching plan supporting the use of AAC during an academic activity. You will leave this session with specific strategies, plans, and resources to use when you return to your classroom, and new ideas for teaching others to better support the use of AAC!

Presenter: Holly Schneider

Holly Schneider, MA CCC-SLP, has prior experience as an Elementary & Intermediate English and Language Arts teacher. After graduating in 2000 with a Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology, she began a clinical career at St. David’s Rehabilitation Hospital, working with clients ranging in age from adolescent to geriatric. Currently, Holly is on the Clinical Training & Education Team at Tobii Dynavox where she develops and conducts internal and customer trainings, creates implementation resources, and presents at local, national and international conferences about AAC topics. Her most recent publication is in JMSLP (Dec 2010).
