Type de formation: Implementation Workshop
This implementation-based workshop will focus on the emergent communicator and how we can best provide Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) supports and strategies that help them realize their communication potential. Participants will review the stages of pre-intentional and intentional communication. Participants will then learn about low and high-tech AAC communication supports with the goal of moving our emergent communicators toward symbolic communication.

Program completion requirements: Participants are expected to be present for the entire program. Individuals who are not present for the full program will not be recommended for ASHA CEUs. No partial credit will be provided.

Karen Rodgers M.S., CCC-SLP has many years of experience in the rehabilitation setting providing assessment, therapy, and consultation to pediatrics and adults with wide variety of diagnoses and disorders. A primary focus for practice includes the area of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and supporting her patients’ successful communication. Karen is a member of the Tobii Dynavox Learning Services Team where she develops and conducts internal and customer trainings, creates implementation resources, and presents at conferences about AAC topics.
