Description:
Course Description: The Tobii Dynavox Discovery Lab uses lecture and case studies to LEARN about communication, access and education solutions for patients with complex needs. You will then make your way through interactive lab stations and DO guided hands-on activities. Opportunities to APPLY your knowledge in practical ways will be provided. And you'll leave the session with a handful of resources and practical tips that can be used the very next day!! This session is focuses on adults with complex communication needs.
Certificate of Completion will be given at the end of the Lab.

Presenters: Holly Schneider, MA CCC-SLP has prior experience as an Elementary & Intermediate English and Language Arts teacher. After graduating in 2000 with a Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology, she began a clinical career at St. David’s Rehabilitation Hospital, working with clients ranging in age from adolescent to geriatric. Currently, Holly is on the Training and Implementation Team at Tobii Dynavox where she develops and conducts internal and customer trainings, creates implementation resources, and presents at local, national and international conferences about AAC topics.
Lindsey Frohn, M.S., CCC-SLP, graduated with a Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 2010. Following graduation, she worked in an rehabilitation hospital for over 6 years as a pediatric speech-language pathologist. She worked with children and adolescents with both acquired injuries and developmental disorders. While Working with a wide variety of diagnoses and disorders, she developed a passion for augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to increase her patients’ abilities to communicate successfully and decrease their frustrations. Now with Tobii Dynavox she is presently a member of the Clinical Training & Implementation Team where she develops and provides customer trainings.

Lindsey worked in a rehabilitation hospital for over six years as a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) before joining Tobii Dynavox. While working with a wide variety of diagnoses and disorders, she developed a passion for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to increase her patients’ abilities to communicate successfully. Lindsey is presently a Learning Consultant with the Learning Services team at Tobii Dynavox. In this role, she develops and facilitates internal and external customer training and implementation resources. Lindsey also presents at local, national, and international conferences about AAC topics.
