We will explore the power of various communicative functions, vocabulary selection, and specific strategies to facilitate communication beyond requesting.

• Identify communication tools that support interactions beyond requesting
• List partner communication strategies that support better communication interactions

Presenter: Janette Thibodeau
Janette earned her bachelor’s degree in Special Education – MOD SD from the University of Akron in 1994. She has experience working with diverse pediatric and adult populations with a variety of communication needs. Her initial work experience included teaching in a high school transition program. She has been a licensed as a Special Education teacher for K-12 in several states. Janette has been a consultant with Tobii Dynavox for over 6 years.
