How to Keep a Person In Snap Core First on an I-110, Indi, I-12+, or I-15+ device

To eliminate the concern that Tablet Mode is causing any of the issue of seeing the Taskbar at the bottom of the screen:

  1. Connect a USB keyboard - if this is an Indi use a Micro USB to Standard USB adapter.
  2. Exit all programs and close all windows.
  3. In the bottom right corner, select the bubble to the right of the date and time.
  4. In the Action Center, select All Settings.
  5. Select System.
  6. On the left, select Tablet mode.
  7. Under When I sign in, select Use desktop mode.
  8. Close the window.
To extinguish the need to log into Windows when booting up:
  1. Right click the Start menu and select Run.
  2. In the Open text box, type “netplwiz” (without the quotes).
  3. Select OK.
  4. Clear the checkbox for Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.
  5. Select Apply- this is a critical step and easy to miss.
  6. Enter and confirm the computer’s password twice as indicated.
  7. Select OK.
To keep the user within SCF once the software is loaded:
There are two ways to accomplish this.  The most effective way is to run TD Snap in kiosk mode.  The instructions for this can be a bit technical at times and if any changes need to be made in Windows Settings, you will need a keyboard handy.  The benefit, however, is that there is absolutely no way to access anything except TD Snap.  For these instructions please see the Microsoft article .
If you prefer less technical instructions please follow the steps below.  There are ways around the instructions below to get into Windows settings or other applications, but is the user is not going to be searching for a way to get out of TD Snap, the below instructions are good enough.
Steps 1 through 4:
  • DO NOT apply to I-12+ shipped before 01/18/2018 and I-15+ that shipped before01/02/2018
  • DO apply to I-12+ shipped after 01/18/2018 and I-15+ devices that shipped after 01/02/2018
  1. From the Start menu, select the Tobii Dynavox folder, and then select Hardware Settings.
  2. Configure this window with the following:
    1. Select Touch & Gestures
    2. Disable Edge Swipe
    3. Enable Lock Screen
    4. Select Buttonsand disable Enable Home Button
    5. On TD I-110 only, select Startupand choose TD Snap from the drop-down menu.
    6. Close Hardware Settings
  3. On I-Series devices, from the Startmenu, select the Tobii Dynavox folder, and then select Startup Wizard
    1. Select TD Snap
    2. Choose Select
    3. TD Snap will launch
    4. Go into Settings.
    5. Select System.
    6. Turn Use Passcodeto On and setup a code that you will remember.
    7. Turn Full Screen Mode to On.
    8. Select Done.
  4. On the physical keyboard, press Alt + F4.
  5. From the Start menu, select the Windows icon, and then select Restart.
